Papercraft Store Buildings
Papercrafting has become one of my favorite pastimes these days. The other day as I was searching for new papercrafts online I ran across this cool papercraft site: ModelPaperWorld. This site contains plans for all sorts of small HO scale buildings and accessories for use in war gaming and model railroading. When I saw these buildings and they were just so cute that I just had to make them.
The first is a liquor store and the other is a small fish n’ chips shop. The plans are downloaded in compressed zip files containing JPG image files. To print them, decompress the images and open them in an image viewer (GIMP, Photoshop, etc.) or paste them into a word processor document (Open Office, Word, etc.) and resize them to 8.5 x 11 so the entire image fills the page. The models aren’t that complex to build but some of the elements such as the letters on the liquor store sign are tiny. The other accessories such as the newspaper rack, air conditioning units on the roofs of the buildings, and the ice machine aren’t included in the downloads. These can be obtained in a separate download. The accessories can then be placed as desired.
