Review: Masters of the Universe Origins Man-At-Arms

At the very center of the Universe, at a dimensonal crossroads, lies the planet Eternia. Centuries ago Eternia was a paradise of high technology and wondrous magic. Its people flourished in splendor and peace reigned supreme.

That is until greedy forces from a dimension of evil found this spectacular land and craved it for themselves. This demonic invasion brought about the Great Wars. The aftermath of this centuries long battle of attrition left the planet in wastes and the inhabitants sank back to a barbaric age. The advanced technology and powerful sorcery of the ancients was lost, with what few artifacts there were remaining from that time viewed with suspicion and fear by the remanat population.

However, the ancient secrets of invention have not been entirely forgotten. There are those who have kept the knowlege of technology and weaponry, handing down this knowlege from generation to generation, guarding it judiciously, and only bringing it into play for the defense of Eternia.

The greatest warrior of each generation is entrusted with the secrets of forging machines, both technologial and mystical, and given the abilty to create both devices of war as well as those of peace. This highly skilled creator and master of all weapons is known only as the Man-At-Arms!

Masters of the Universe
ORIGINS

  • MOTU is back for a whole new generation of fans!

  • Collection of 5.5-in action figures includes He-Man, Skeletor, Beast Man, Teela and lots more fan favorites for storytelling fun.

  • Figures are highly posable with 16 working joints.

  • Longtime fans will appreciate the retro-style packaging and the mini comic book that comes with each figure!

  • A great gift for adult collectors and kids age 6 and older.

Seeing these figures at Wal-Mart the other day, I broke down and got them all. Today we take a look at Man-At-Arms --

Man-At-Arms comes on a retro designed blister card resembling the original red lava burst packaging from the original ’80s line.

The Masters of the Universe logo is at the top with Man-At-Arms named below. The action figure of Man-At-Arms is displayed at the bottom in the blister.

On the back of the card, at the top is some artwork featuring Man-At-Arms and below that we see some pictures showing off the action features of the figure along with the cross sell art showing off the other figures of the line.

Breaking open the package we have Man-At-Arms in his green leotard and wearing his orange body armor. The actual figure's breast plate doesn't have the fur around it, I customized my figure by gluing some Fuzzy Sticks™ to the armor. In a baggy you will find the rest of his armor and his mace. The body sculpt is the exact same as He-Man's.

The arm armor is in two pieces, allowing the elbow to be be bent and posed. The head sculpt features the mustache of latter media versions instead of the clean shaven vistage of the original figure. The colors of the new figure and his accessories are a shade brighter as well. Man-At-Arms also includes same mini-comic as other figures, Wave two is supposed to have a different mini-comic though.

Articulation includes a ball jointed head, ball hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, waist rotation, ball jointed hips, swivel-hinged knees, swivel calves, hinged and rocker ankles.

Now lets have a good look at him:

    1. I don't know... they just now seem to be stocking the first wave. If it has taken this long to get them in the stores, then it could be a while before we see the second wave. I really only want to get Mer-Man, Zodac, and Stratos right now. Possibly might end up getting Man-E-Faces and Ram Man if see them.
