Latest Eternian Toy Adventures...

I thought I would do a quick post to show everyone what I have up to lately...

With the release and recent acquisition of Mattel's latest Masters of the Universe Origins collection, I have rediscovered my love of He-Man and all things Eternia!

As you know the old vintage Castle Grayskull playset was repainted to go with the new figures. At first I thought I would stop there and leave the inside untouched, but it all started when I decided the interior of the jaw bridge had to be painted... Then it was the laser gun, that lead to the weapons rack... which in turn lead to the combat trainer!

Lastest updates (Ghostbusters & Super Powers)

So I have been kind of busy and I haven't had a chance to post anything for last few days, so I decided to put this out there...

I haven't finished the reviews of the Kenner Super Powers Collection 3rd wave figures because I am missing one! That one would be Golden Pharaoh! Have no fear though, I just bought one from a seller on a group that I am in. I am just waiting for it to get here, so expect that review along with all the pics and extra goodies you expect in a few days! This figure will actually complete the loose collection that I started a couple of years ago!

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. As we get ready to gear up for Christmas I figure it is time to get a post or two up that I have been meaning to do. I stay too busy these days to post every week any longer, but I'm still here! Looks like Dr. Deadly and Vickie are getting ready to celebrate...

Status Update (Good News/Bad News)

Good News! I got a job starting Monday! YAY!

Bad news... I won't have the computer free time I had at the old job so my post will get sporadic... :(
I never had the money problems during this downturn I thought I might so I didn't have to get drastic and sell off any of my toys! I had just bought some new stuff right before my old job played out I do plan to get some pics made of some of it and try to get a post or two in the next few weeks if I can. Stay tuned!

A little set back in life...

I haven't been posting lately since the three part GeoCities article because life decided to issue me another challenge. :/ On Friday May 31st my contract at work wasn't renewed. This means I am on a job search for the first time in nearly 20 years!

All isn't bad... I am nearly debt free! My house and all my vehicles are paid for. I have few bills other than utilities. My wife is still working and I am drawing unemployment. I am going to have sell parts of my collection though. Probably most of the good stuff will go on the "Big Auction Site" I already am selling my comic collection... Its been under the bed since we moved in this house back 1997!

Building A Better Blog: Design Changes and Upgrades

I have been so busy messing with the blog itself for the last couple of weeks that I really haven't had to time to do any posts on the newest toys. I will try to make up for that in next few weeks, however Spring has sprung so my weekends are pretty busy with other things.

Building a Better Blog: Getting back to Basics

While this blog serves as a sort of personal blog for me, it is first and foremost a toy blog, showcasing my adventures with my collections of action figures, playsets, and models! After some amazing finds in the past few months, I have decided the time is ripe to share some new toy adventures.

Recreating old posts...

Using the Waybackmachine, I have been able to recreate some of the older posts that have been lost when Blog.com bit the dust. Check out some of the older posts from 2013-2015!

Rebuilding Blogroll

For some odd reason all the blog links in my Blogroll disappeared. I am in the process of rebuilding the Blogroll. This is very frustrating.

An Amazing Way to Auto-Share to Social Media

Social Media is a necessary evil. If you want to publicize your latest blog post, then you need to let your readers know whenever there is a new post, so a Facebook page and a Twitter account for the blog are absolutely required. This doesn't mean you have waste your time after posting a new update sharing the post by hand to the media you are using to promote it.

Making a better blog...

As you can see if you look at the time stamps on my recent posts I stayed up all night Saturday night working on this blog. I wasn't just putting up posts either, I was coding! And as we all know the best coding happens in the middle of the night.

What I learned about Blogging and Image Storage

Some of the posts made to this blog back when it was hosted at Blog.com were recently found and a valuable lesson was learned.
Consistently store posted images on an external image storage site! Postimg.org was and is the blog's external image host site. The only problem? It was never consistently used! In other words, sometimes images were posted using the blog's local image storage and other times postimg.org was used.

A Happy Find & Construction Continues...

I am still working on getting set up here at the new host site. I wish I had moved long ago, but I was just to busy to get it all set up. Blogger is so much easier to use than Wordpress, at least it seems that way to me.

I was able to find an archived back-up of the blog and was able to recover a few old posts from 2013! What a happy find. These were posts from the days when the toy blog was devoted to Sea-Monkeys.

Moving blog hosts

I have used blog.com to host this blog for a few years. It was never very reliable but I had so many posts and pictures there that I never really ever moved. Well it has come back to bite me that I never exported it. Blog.com is dead. I haven't been able to load it for several months now. I have moved the blog here but I don't have any of the old posts. Here we start a-new! Enjoy...

Technical Difficulties

Please be patient my blog provider Blog.com is experiencing problems again today. If you get any errors please try reloading the page.

Welcome back...

Blog.com has been offline for last 36 hours. For now the site will stay here but I am going to have to move if this keeps up. I will most likely move to wordpress but I will lose features when I do that. I am trying now to figure out how to get the blog backed up so the move will be easy. I will certainly post a link to the new site if and when I get it ready.

New Blog Theme

I have been searching for a nice easy loading blog theme and I think I have finally found it. I switched to Headlines by Woo Themes, it is nice and clean, easy to read and navigate, and it has a nice variety of options.

Do pardon my dust as I tweak this theme in the next few days.

Fixed: Email Subscriptions

If you have been trying to subscribe to the blog using the email subscription widget, it is fixed now and directs properly.

Welcome

Welcome to Bill's Sea-Monkeys® Adventures, a journal of my latest Sea-Monkeys® experiments. You might wonder how and why all this got started... Years ago, on a lark, I purchased a Sea-Monkey kit for my daughter. We had so much fun with them that I decided to compile as much information on them as I could and put it all in one convenient place for her. It started out with just one page and a journal of our adventures with Sea-Monkeys. As an amateur web designer, I eventually decided to apply my skills to creating an actual website.
