Today, a comic scene of Darkseid and his inner circle on the planet Apokolips is being recreated using an Ultarama Display System and Kenner Super Powers Collection action figures. A cartoon cell from Super Powers: Galactic Guardians is used as the background image. Lets take a look at the original image and compare it to the recreation...
Here is a gallery of shots of the new diorama:
The great Jack Kirby was allowed to redesign his iconic characters for the Super Powers line, thereby earning some much needed income from royalties generated from the produced action figures! Here is another original drawing of the redesigns by the King himself!

ReplyDeleteThanks! I always wanted to dipsplay my Fourth World Super Powers Collection figures on an Apokolips diorama, but it took me a while to find just the right background images. With this one and the Armegetto backdrop I think I have found them!
DeleteVery cool, That makes a great display! Do you have other Super Powers figures displayed separately?
ReplyDeleteI do have other ultarama displays for the other figures in the collection. I don't have set up at the moment, but I have blogged about them in the past.

ReplyDeleteVery cool! Thanks!
DeleteI just ordered some unpainted 3d prints on Etsy of some Super Friends. I pretty sure I ordered Sinestro, Scarecrow, Indian Chief, Black Vulcan and either Toy Man or Captain Cold. As long as these turn out well, I plan to get Granny Goodness, Highfather, Big Barda, Metron, Mad Harriet, Lightray and Lashina, Alan Scott GL, Jay Garrick Flash, Blue Beetle, Black Canary, Booster Gold, Salaak, Kilowog and probably a bunch of others, but that is the order of my list so far. The Seller said they plan to list the Tower of Darkness this Christmas. Each figure is about $20-30, depending if they have a cape or are extra large. He said if you order 5 at a time, he throws in a free figure, so I ordered all five from the category "Super Friends" thinking he might make the freebie from the same category. If you search "Super Powers" on Etsy, you'll see the unpainted figures. I plan to do reviews on my YouTube channel ItFigures!.
