Female Artemia can produce eggs either through sexual reproduction or through parthenogenesis. This is why you will see far more females in a colony than males. This is one of the reasons that I have left the only surviving Sea-Monkey (a female I call Esmeralda) in my work tank alone. She has and is producing offspring in the tank I hope they will survive and repopulate it. In the below video if you look closely you can see tiny juvenile Sea-Monkeys swimming in the water.

Parthenogenesis & Sea-Monkeys
Parthenogenesis (pron.: /ˌpɑrθənoʊˈdʒɛnəsɨs/) is a form of asexual reproduction in which growth and development of embryos occur without fertilization.
Female Artemia can produce eggs either through sexual reproduction or through parthenogenesis. This is why you will see far more females in a colony than males.
